The house he built, so like those in his native Scotland, still stands at 317 Dundas Street West. It is one of the oldest houses in this part of Ontario and, although it has been altered during the years, it is still in remarkably good condition. It is difficult to date exactly. Chisholm's name does not appear on the title until 1809 but he likely built the house before then. The year 1805 appears above the bake oven.
