Note: The date 1841 is seen in several places but I am quite sure that the last digit on the year is a 4 - identical to the 4 beside it. We often see the angled part of the 4 lost in the erosion of the stone, leaving what looks like a 1 but if we look very closely we can see the side bits. This also helps with the fact that his daughter Martha shows birth year of 1842 per the 1861 Census.³

Note: The top line is very confusing and may have wrong information. The name has been overwritten with what may be Marion, but the underlying name appears to be Mary. Age 62 is close to Mary Ann Lawson, Aaron Coulter's mother. Place of birth is Ont., which is right for Mary Ann Lawson, although other records say Ireland. It could be that Mary Ann (Lawson, Coulter) Owens, after William Owens died in 1870 or so, came to live with her son, Aaron Coulter. Makes perfect sense. Too bad the record was not more clear.
