He retired from this position four years ago. Mr. Montgomery was born at Brighton, May 29, 1907, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Montgomery. He was educated at Brighton, Cobourg Collegiate and Normal School at Peterborough. He was a teacher for three years at Orland, seven years at Oakville, and was credit manager for Beatty Bros. in Fergus for some time, before coming to Muskoka. He taught for a couple of years at the Reay School. Before launching his own business in Gravenhurst, Mr. Montgomery was for awhile with the Department of Travel and Publicity. Active in politics, he was campaign manager for Honorable Arthur Wels and James M. Macdonnell. Mr. Montgomery leaves his wife, the former May Tupniak of Gravenhurst, and three sons, Keith, Hugh and Malcolm, and daughter Margaret.
