Two men were killed at a saw mill a mile or so to the east and a major part of the Percy Road was damaged because it ran over the gravel bank. The fatalities were Lewis Shearer, owner of the mill that was destroyed, and Jacob Herrington, a neighbour who happened to be helping him that night. There has been a lack of information regarding the second fatality, always recorded as a Herrington, but with no given name. In light of the best info available, I felt it may have been John C.
