Hannah Gould was born after 1792; This is a guess. As of circa 1816,her married name was Purdy. She married Gilbert Purdy, son of Caleb P. Purdy and Patience Coon, circa 1816 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; Note: I have decided to try this Gilbert Purdy this way. This guy was a son of Caleb P. Purdy of Cramahe Twp. (near Colborne) and would have married Hannah Gould, the close family right there at Salem. The other Gilbert Purdy, who married Asenieth Goldsmith, is in the Napanee area and son of David. The early census records for Cramahe make if very clear that Gilbert of one of Caleb's sons - you can see the progression in the records. Let's try this..... Anyone have any better ideas. Hannah Gould appeared on the census of 1839 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1839 Census: Widow Purdy; - male under 16; 2 males over 16; 1 female ubder 16; 1 female over 16
Note: Assuming the term "Widow Purdy" refers to Hannah, widow of Gilbert Purdy. She appeared on the census of 1850 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Canada West; 1850 Census: Widow Purdy; Conc 1 Lot 27, occ; prop., Totl Persons - 2.
