M. "Emma" ?1

F, #998, b. 1869
  • Birth*: 1869; Ontario; Per 1891 Census: see Jospeh Ames
  • Marriage*: before April 1891; Brighton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario; Emma appears for the first time on the Brighton Twp. 1891 Census with Joseph and Esther. James Ernest is NOT with them. It could be that Ernest and Emma were married before 1891 and lived with Joseph. Then, before April 1891, Ernest left for the U.S. where Emma joined him later and, in 1984, had Joseph M., as shown on the 1901 Census in Manitoba. Emma is not with them in Manitoba. See Divorce.; Principal=James Ernest Ingle "Ernie" Ames

  • Married Name: before April 1891; Ames
  • Census*: April 1891; Brighton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario, Canada; Age 22 at 1891 Census: see Joseph Ames
Note: Emma may not be their child? Wife of Ernest?2
  • Married Name: after 1900; Peterson
  • Note: 24 February 1916; Essex, Montana, U.S.A.; Son Joseph Marian's Military Service Record shows the name of his mother as Mrs. Emma Peterson. This matches with the Emma Ames that was in the 1891 Census in Brighton Twp. - 1891 Census shows Emma living with Joseph Ames & family. She could be Ernest's wife. Anne is at home but is married so both men may be away working.
The name Mrs. Emma Peterson suggest that by 1916 she has remarried. What is her maiden name? Look at Brighton Twp. Census and Births???
  • Residence*: 24 February 1916; Essex, Montana, U.S.A.; Military Service Record of son Joseph Marian Ames shows address of Essex, Montana, U.S.A.
