"OBITUARY. Nancy Selina Huffman, widow of the late John Thorne, departed this life on Saturday, February the 7th, 1914, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. B. Macklam, in the 85th year of her age. Mrs. Thorne was born at Bath, Ont., on the 31st day of May, 1829, the eldest of a family of 13 children, 12 of whom arrived at the age of maturity. She was married at Brighton on the 30th day of June, 1859, and because the mother of two daughters and one son; Mrs. Macklam of this village; Mrs. Gillies of Ayr., Ont., and Dr. Thorne of Bobcaygeon. Her home for some time has been on a farm near Edville, but for some years with her daughter in this village. She has been in declining health for some time, but submitted patiently to the will of the Master, awaiting his call. She was a good Christian woman, of a kind disposition, and a liberal giver to the cause of Christ, highly respected by her acquaintances, a member of the Presbyterian church for many years. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. R. B. Macklam, on Monday 9th inst., conducted by the Rev. A. K. McLeod. Interment took place at Zion cemetery.
