     Mary "Ann" Bowles was born in 1817 at Ireland; The 1851 census has her listed as 5 years younger than Robert, but the 1861 and the 1871 census list them as the same age.
Note: I have decided to place Mary Ann (Bowles) Buchanan with John Bowles and Ann Mills as the most likely scenario. There is no documentation to support this other than general info re date and proximity. If anyone has better info re this, please let me know. In James's Death Registration, it is Bowles. In George's Marriage Registration it is Butler. This needs to be researched.
Note: St. Paul's Anglican Church in Brighton was destroyed by fire in 1914 which may have destroyed the record of Robert and Anne's marriage. They were Church of England.

Note: It appears that Ann was living in Brighton Twp. with James at the time of her death. James is listed as the witness; he lived on the north side of Brighton Village. The cause of death was "summer complaint" - not sure what tha means. One minor discrepancy is that her age is listed as 73 years.¹¹ She was buried on 30 July 1887 at Ontario; No burial info re Ann has been found. It might be expected that she was buried in the Norwood-Asphodel Cemetery with her husband Robert. There is no memorial for her there or in Brighton where James is buried.

His place of abode was Belmont Twp, Hastings County. In his Will it says Village of Havelock but the house was actually in Belmont Twp., across the road from the village boundary. His Real Estate included 1 acre, north-east corner of east half of lot #5, 10th Conc of Belmont Twp. - cost $1,200 minus mortgage remaining of $300 leaves a value of $900. It is also described as Lot No. 353 Plan No. 16, Havelock; mortgagor was John Thompson. George's wife Mary Jane (Carter) would recieve 1/3 and the balance would be divided equally amoungst the children. Cemetary in Pacific County. This site is marked bya Rhododendron but no
marker at this time. All of her children are deceased but some ofher
grandchildren and many ggchildren are still living. The family is named
Wells after about 1890, and we have no trace of David Buchanan after about

Note: Per email from Dorothy Hawkinson, 1900 Census was found and this 1910 Census also. The 1900 Census showed David Buchanan as a boarder listed just under Susie Jarvis and her two kids. Here, in Chicago in 1910, he is "Head" of household and Susie Jarvis and son Arthur are shown below. David is still shown as "S" and Susie as "W".⁴ He married Susie ? circa 1918 at Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A; Marriage per 1920 Census. Note: It appears as if David Buchanan has married Susie Jarvis who he was living with for both the 1900 and 1910 Census. In this case, he uses the given name "Wm." - wonder why??? He also says he was born in Canada with French as language, same for both parents???⁴ He died circa 1930 at Chicago, U.S.A; "There are several William Buchanans who died in Cook County (Chicago area) who could be our David Buchanan in the 1930s time frame, within a decade or so, but Cook Co. doesn't release the records without a fee & nothing shows in the LDS records so i think it's a roadblock for the time being.
