Abraham Marsh, a Revolutionary War soldier, joined His Majesty's troops at Montreal in 1777, 84th Regiment of Foot, commanded by Brig'r Gen'l McLean. Served with General Burgoyne at Saratoga, later joining the First Battalion of Sir John Johnson's King's Royal Regiment of New York, serving as a private for the rest of the war. Abraham was discharged from Carleton Island in 1783, and was granted land in Royal Township 2 Cornwall Township, Stormont County, Upper Canada, for his loyalty and service to the Crown.
