     Rozanne Wait was born on 23 March 1827 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; per GEDCOM of Teresa Smith, May 19 2010.¹ She died on 30 July 1846 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Canada West, at age 19; "Wait, Roxey - On Monday evening, 27 ult., Miss Roxey Wait and Miss Abigail Fuller were returning from a Temperence Meeting in the 3rd con. of Cramahe Twp., in a one-horse carriage. As they were descending a long and dangerous hill, their horse became unmanageable and they were both thrown out. Miss Wait hung to the carriage by one foot being fast between the cross-pieces of the shafts and her body was dragged to the foot of the hill, where the carriage ran against a stump and the horse broke loose. Mr. Henman, who was a few rods ahead, ran back when he heard the carriage stop suddenly. He found Miss Wait at the bottom of the hill, apparently lifeless. Miss Fuller was found lying unconscious part way up the hill. Miss Wait was badly bruised and her skull fractured. She remained unconscious and died Thursday. Elizabeth Salls Briggs died circa 1795 at New York, U.S.A; I have seen no reliable information about the death of Elziabeth (Briggs) Wait, 1st wife of George Wait. He ended up in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., but with no wife in 1803, then a wife in 1806, who was younger than Elizabeth. She must have died before he went to Canada in 1797.
