Note: It appears as if the name Elihan and Ezekiel are used as the same thing with this family. on 25 May 1797 at Ernestown Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., Upper Canada. He married Fanny Ann Chard, daughter of Barcelona "Barce" Chard and Catherine Rosebush, in 1802 at Belmont Twp., Hastings Co., Upper Canada; per Weaver GEDCOM from Kevin C. Weaver, Jul 31, 2006. Note: This specifically says Allen Hubbel, and his older brother Elijah did not have family to match these numbers, so we must take from this that Ezekiel Allen Hubble lived in Cramahe with or near his brother for a time at least. This is the only Cramahe census record to mention his name, although their father, Nehemiah, is shown to be in Cramahe according to 1807 and 1809 census records.2 He lived on 7 March 1823 at Conc 2 Lot 19, Rawdon Twp., Hastings Co., Upper Canada; "An Affadavit dated Cramachi March 7,1823 states that Nehemiah alias Myer Hubble was living on Lot 20 concession 3 Rawdon and that he had lived there upwards of twenty years also that Elijah Hubble was living on Lot 19 Con 2 Rawdon and that he had lived there upwards of fifteen years.Surveyor General Ridout stated on Feb 4,1823 that these men were located on these respective lots. " from Mack and Sine history.
Note: We might see this as a process that took several years to develop a homestead in Rawdon. The family was probably in the area of Ernestown Twp. for a few years in mid- to late 1790s, coming to Cramahe Twp. before 1807 when both Nehemiah and Elijah appear in Cramahe census records. They may have gone up to Rawdon in the summer for a few years to build a cabin and clear some land, in preparation for the family moving there. The Patent for the land in 1823 is a formality; they were obviously living there well before that. However, how long some of them stayed in Cramahe and when they moved north permanently is uncertain. It is clear that older brother Elijah stayed in Cramahe. (Dan Buchanan, Nov 30 2020.) He appeared on the census of 1807 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1807 Census: Nehemiah Hubel; 1 male over 16, 1 male under 16 (Census and Assessment Records, Newcastle Dist., Cramahe Twp., from Dan's printed collection, copied at Archives of Ontario, 2002.)7 He appeared on the census of 1809 at Cramahe Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1809 Census: Nehemiah Hubbel; 2 males over 16, 2 females over 16, 2 males under 16, 1 female under 16 (Census and Assessment Records, Newcastle Dist., Cramahe Twp., from Dan's printed collection, copied at Archives of Ontario, 2002.)7 He lived on 7 March 1823 at Conc 3 Lot 20, Rawdon Twp., Hastings Co., Upper Canada; "An Affadavit dated Cramachi March 7,1823 states that Nehemiah alias Myer Hubble was living on Lot 20 concession 3 Rawdon and that he had lived there upwards of twenty years also that Elijah Hubble was living on Lot 19 Con 2 Rawdon and that he had lived there upwards of fifteen years.Surveyor General Ridout stated on Feb 4,1823 that these men were located on these respective lots.
Warrants were issued for these lots to Nehemiah May 24,1823 to Elijah Sept 26,1823 Nehemiah obtained his Crown Deed June 16,1823, Elijah October 4,1323." from page 36 of the Mack and Sine History. He lived on 16 June 1823 at Con 3 Lot 20, Rawdon Twp., Hastings Co., Upper Canada; Land Registry Records (Patent) show that Nehemiah Hubble obtained the Patent from the Crown for all 200 acres of Lot 20, Conc 3, Rawdon Twp. ITS Date: June 16, 1823 (Ontario Land Registry Records, Hastings Co., Rawdon Twp., Book 352, pg 260 of 292, copied from OnLand Nov 30 2020.)8 He died in 1859 at Rawdon Twp., Hastings Co., Canada West; Date 1859 & location Hastings Co. per FindaGrave.
