Note: Richard H. Down and wife Fidelia Maybee are shown on two of four sides of a reddish obelisk type memorial along with sons Samuel and William. Fred Down is sure there once was a larger pioneer memorial for Richard H. Down himself, located closer to the south fence on the rise near where Wes Down's memorial is now.
