William Hugh Goheen was born on 19 September 1922 at Queensville, Ontario; Date 1922 per Memorial & FindaGrave.. Date 1923 & location Cda. per 1930 US Fed Census.1,2,3 He appeared on the census of 12 April 1930 at 17368 Marx St., Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, U.S.A; Age 7 at 1930 US Fed Census: see Raymond Goheen.2 He School picture taken on south steps of the front stoop of Codrington Public School in 1931 shows Billy Goheen, front row, far left. in 1931 at Codrington Public School, Codrington, Northumberland Co., Ontario. He Bill Goheen is included in the Latimer Photos, shown standing at attention in his military uniform. circa 1943 at Orland, Northumberland Co., Ontario.4 He A picture has come to light which shows Bill Goheen in his military uniform standing on a wooden flume surrounded by woods. The inscription says "Bill Goheen on wooden flume connecting pond with Motts (Coopers) Mill". I am guessing that this is in the location of 170 Main Street, which is where Butler Creek crosses under Number 2 Highway at the west end of Brighton. In the early and mid-1900s there were several different saw and grist mills at this location because of the water power from Butler Creek. M.E. Mott had a mill here during the 1930s and them it was taken over by R. Irvine Cooper, which is why it is called Motts Mill but Coppers is in brackets. That would place the picture around 1944 or so. Bill Goheen married Doris Herrington in 1951 and they lived in Trenton and then Carrying Place. (Dan Buchanan, Apr 19 2022) circa 1944 at Motts Mill, Brighton, Northumberland Co., Ontario.5 He married Doris May Herrington, daughter of Edwin Milo Herrington and Harriet Hopkins, on 8 June 1951 at Trenton, Hastings Co., Ontario; Date June 8, 1951 per Memorial.1 William Hugh Goheen was "He is superintendent at McFarland Construction Co. He was assigned as Radar Technician in the R. C. A. F., she was at Bata Shoe." per The McColl Clan: Scotland to Canada, by Leona M. Austin. in 1979. He died on 26 August 2013 at Trenton Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Hastings Co., Ontario, at age 90; "Goheen, William Hugh - peacefully at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 26th, 2013.
