An active Mason, Mr. Darling was Past Master of Percy Masonic Lodge No. 161, Warkworth. In 1938-39 he was District Deputy Grand Master of Peterborough District. He was a Life Member of Percy Lodge in 1977 and was presented with his 50 years pin in 1979. A Lodge Memorial Service was held Tuesday, April 11 at 6:45 p.m. On February 24, 1915, he was married in Morganston to the former Lilly Jane Massey who predeceased him Oct 24, 1988. He is survived by his son, Earle of Victoria, B. C. and by his daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Allan Johnson). Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Lorne was predeceased by his son, Ivan, daughter, Helen Johnson and by his brotherss Harry, Roy and John.
