Philp, Brunswick house, Colborne, on Good Friday morning, April 2nd,1915, when she was found dead in bed a short time after Mrs. Philp had left the room. She had been affected with a slight cold, but seemingly not seriously, as she bad been about the house as usual. Mrs. Moffit, who was in her 79th year, was horn in County Tyrone, Ireland, coming to (Canada with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Molloy, when she was eight years of age They settled at Oshawa. At nineteen she was married to her late husband William Moffit, who died in April, 1901, at Brighton, where Mrs. Moffit had been living for fifty-five years, and where her family of three daughters and six sons grew up. One son, Edward was killed on the C.P.R. at Lethbridge, on August 1st, 1907. The other sons are William John Moffit of Rochester, N. Y., Samuel James Moffit of Sodus Point, N. Y., Charles A. Moffit of Bow Park farm, Brantford, Ont., Oscar George Moffit of Sarnia, Out., and Lorne Maitland Moffit of Cleveland, Ohio. The daughters are Mrs. Edgar E. Philp, of Colborne, Miss Margaret Moffit of Toronto, and Mrs. James C. Dixon of Warkworth. The funeral services were held at the Brunswick on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. K. McLeod of St. Andrew's Church, Brighton, of which church Mrs. Moffit had long been a consistent member. Rev. Dr. MacKenzie of St. Andrew's Church, Colborne, and Rev. A. H. Foster, taking part. The interment took place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brighton.
