On the actual marriage certificate that I now have in my possession this person is a witness. I am thinking that this is John Archibald Spafford living in Colborne in 1881, occupation - farmer. 67 at the time. It states at marriage that she was born in Prince Edward County. Re parents: 1891 census; father born in Germany. mother born in England; 1901 and 1911 no parents noted but German ancestry; 1921 from Ontario, at death both unknown but from Holland.
My sister and I have realized that there is great variation in how the name has been spelled in records. We tried variants. Today she has been found living in Brighton, Ontario, in 1861, with her parents, Peter Scriber, 61, and mother Rosa Ann, 31, 2 children: William H. and Phebe. Peter born in Germany and Rosa in Upper Canada. Must have been Peter who took 6 weeks to reach Canada.
