Golden Wedding ... "A very happy event took place on Wednesday of this week at "Sunnyside", the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Massey, about three miles north of Grafton. The event was the fiftieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Massey's marriage. About 75 friends and relatives assembled to celebrate the event. Twice that number were invited, but owing to the unfavorable condition of the roads, were unable to be present. A very ejoyable time was spent and everybody united in wishing the aged couple much joy on this happy occassion. After partaking of a very rich and sumptious repast, the preparing of which reflects much credit upon the ladies, addresses suitable to the occassion were delivered by Hart A. Massey, Esq., President of the Massey Manufacturing Compnay of Toronto; Rev. Mr. Balfourof Grafton; W. J. Massey, Esq., of Belleville; and O. W. Powell, Esq., of Cobourg."
