Elizabeth (Johnson) Clench is a sister of Sarah (Johnson) Ruggles. They are daughters of Brant Johnson and Margaret Campbell and granddaughters of Sir William Johnson who was the Indian Agent for the British during the Revolutionary War. Elizabeth married Ralfe Clench, a member of Butler’s Rangers, and they settled at Niagara when the war was over in 1783.

Margart Clench married Col. Richard Bullock (his 2nd?), a British soldier who came to Canada around 1800 with his father, Colonel Richard Bullock. Richard, Jr.’s father and brothers Christopher and Charles settled near Brighton, Ontario which is where I grew up – my stompin grounds. The Bullocks are well known in that area. Margaret is living with her sisters and brother for the 1851 Census.

Urretta Richardson and Eliza Jane Richardson daughters of the later Charles Richardson
Charles Richardson was an important fellow, M.P.P.etc. He married Eliza Euretta Clench, daughter of Ralfe Clench and Elizabeth Johnson. Eliza died age 27 and he married Jane Clarke and then died young in 1848. He had a daughter in 1828 that died and then Eliza Jane - this “Urretta” appears to be another daughter of Charles and Eliza Euretta. There was at least another daughter Jane, daughter of Jane Clarke. Eliza Jane Richardson married Hugo Grant in 1853.

Charles Richardson was an important fellow, M.P.P.etc. He married Eliza Euretta Clench, daughter of Ralfe Clench and Elizabeth Johnson. Eliza died age 27 and he married Jane Clarke and then died young in 1848. He had a daughter in 1828 that died and then Eliza Jane - this “Urretta” appears to be another daughter of Charles and Eliza Euretta. There was at least another daughter Jane, daughter of Jane Clarke. Eliza Jane Richardson married Hugo Grant in 1853.
