When starting from Mr. Morrow's and turning the corner to go up Main, the first thing noticed was if the streets were clear. There was a vehicle noticed on the right and another on the left. To prevent a collision with the vehicle on the right, I gave her the wheel to take the left side of the street. As I did my attention was drawn by the other vehicle, and the car took directly for it. I then applied the brakes, but before the car stopped, a slight collision occurred which scared the horse. It sprang and the tie-rope drew it to the telegraph pole, throwing it on the front of the buggy, breaking the harness and also damaging the forepart of the buggy to some extent. After the breaking of the harness, the horse ran away. I then apologized to Mr. Sherman who stood on the sidewalk. Then I spoke to Mr. Alf Gunyo who was kind enough to help me back out the car and catch the horse. Mr. Gunyo brought the car back while I brought the horse and placed him in Mr. Wade's Livery Barn. Except for a few slight scratches the horse was uninjured. I wish also to thank the people who assisted me. T. H.
