The group overwintered in tents at Sorel before continuing on to the Bay of Quinte in boats, but Simon J. Cole & Lt. Paul Trumpour received permission to return to New York state & bring their families out to Ontario by an overland route. Simon J. Cole settled with his family in Sophiasburgh Twp., Prince Edward county, Ontario, Canada in 1784. Some of Simon J.
