  • Note*: circa 1940; Frank Harnden Farm, Hilton, Northumberland Co., Ontario; Florence Chatten told me that Gladys Harnden came to Arthur Chatten after her husband, Frank Harnden died in 1938, wondering if the two Chatten boys, Roy and Lyle, would work the Harnden farm on shares with her. They agreed and this situation was successful for several years. Lyle went to work on his wife's father's farm and younger brother Dean Chatten worked with Roy on shares with the Harden farm for a time. Then, Roy decided to purchase the Harnden place, a mortgage was arranged and the property was purchased before Roy married Florence Rannie in 1947. • Note*: circa 1945; Frank Harnden Farm, Hilton, Northumberland Co., Ontario; Florence Chatten told me that Gladys Harnden came to Arthur Chatten after her husband, Frank Harnden died in 1938, wondering if the two Chatten boys, Roy and Lyle, would work the Harnden farm on shares with her.
