"The Late George Maybee. After a few days illness, of which only a few of his friends were aware, George R. Maybee passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 22nd in his 82nd year. Mr. Maybee was born in Prince Edward county. When a boy he moved with his parents to Tyendinaga township, Hastings county, where his parents died, and following their death, the care of four sisters and three brothers devolved upon him at the age of 18. About two years later, he moved to Murray township where he resided or many years. At 45 he married Mrs. Ann Meredith, and moved to Brighton where he has resided for thirty-seven years, during which time he gained many friends. Mr. Maybee had a remarkable memory and could narrate incidents of years gone by with great interest. In politics he was a staunch Conservative. His sister, Mrs. Thomas Corby, Brighton, is the only surviving member of the family. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. S. H.
