"Mrs. W.B. Northrup Died Last Night; Popular Ottawa Hostess Was Widow of Former Clerk of Commons; The death occurred last night at her home, 494 Albert Street, of Mary Schryver Fitch, widow of William Barton Northrup, former member of Parliament for Hastings East and also former clerl of the House of Commons. For many years Mrs. Northrup made her home in Ottawa and was a popular hostess. Mrs. Northrup was born in Toronto, daughter of the late J.C. Fitch. Whe was twice married, her first husband having been the late F.C. Clemow, at one time prominent barrister in Ottawa. In 1907 show married Mr. Northtrup, who predeased her in 1925. By her first marriage Mrs. Northrup had three daughters and a son, two of whom survive, William Clemow and Mrs. C.A. O'Connell, both of Toronto. About two weeks ago Mrs. O'Connell was in Ottawa on account of her mother's illness. At the time it was not believed that Mrs. Northrup was in any immeidate danger and Mrs. O'Connell found it neccessary to return home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from her late residence, 494 Albert Street, to Christ Church Cathedral for service, thence to the Union Station enroute to Belleville, Ont., for interment."
