Note: This is pure speculation. Margaret Fusee is shown to be married to William Cole, and other records show her death in 1860. This record in CemSearch has no dates for her, meaning that no stone is found, but records suggest maybe she was there. The family lived in this area north of Codrington, so it is feasible. The other two, George and Richard, who died at different times in 1866, suggest young children dying of diptheria, often in groups, maybe not her kids???²

The youngest Frank would have been just 6 at the time. It might even have been Thomas himself who was involved in the rebellion but more likely Melissa's brothers because her family was Métis. Because of this involvement at least one family member was wanted by the authorities and this was the reason Thomas & Melissa moved their family to the frontier of western Michigan. Her husband passed away here in 1910. In 1923 she left Greenwood for Toulon, Ill., where she resided with a daughter until 1933, when she went to Neillsville to live with her son. About three weeks ago Mrs. Fradette fell, breaking her hip and it is believed that the shock of the fall, with the complications resulting from old age, were the causes of death.
Thirteen children were born to this union, five of whom are living: Mrs. Adelaide Twichell, Trenton, Mich; Mrs. Lottie Alliston, Chicago, Ill; Mrs. Bessie Burch, Toulon, Ill; Herbert W., Town of York, and James H., Neillsville. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Bahel, Otsego, Mich.
