Chrissie stayed at the house on the farm at Codrington many times and went on trips with Lloyd and Louise and Mary. Grandfather often said that Chrissie was the sister Mary never had and he would always be happy to see her in the house. When I was young, I recall visiting the Whitfield's in Campbellford. (Dan Buchanan, personal experience) circa 1940 at Ontario.³ She Chrissie Roberts and Mary Ames exchanged letters while they were in high school and I have some of them. Th letters begin in January 1945 and go to August 1947. Chrissie attended high school in Trenton and Mary in Campbellford. The last letter, dated August 21 1947 makes it obvious that they are arranging for a boarding room in Peterborough for Normal School and were planning to go there Sept. 8 to see the place.
