Note: Russ's Creek Cemetery is a very old cemetery located on the Tuck property which is on the west side of the lot where the Hartford family lived. The cemetery was abondoned for several decades before Tuck descendants began reviving it. Barry F. King, an artist from Cobourg, is trying to improve the cemetery although there is a dispute with the local government regarding the size of the property and access to it from the road. Barry has a small building there and is working to recover some of the ecological character of the area, similar to the nearby Red Cloud Cemetery where at nature reserve displays original species of the Rice Lake Plains, small areas south of Rice Lake where grasses, shrubs and small trees are found on dry upper plateaus. Most of these areas were plowed under during the early settlement of the area in the early 1800's; these two cemeteries are among the few remaining examples.
