- Note: circa 1837; Marysburgh Twp., Prince Edward Co., Ontario; "Another complaint against a militia officer was sent by J. Allen of Allen's Mills, Marysburgh, against Henry Dingman. Both were magistrates, but Dingman was also a Reformer who had made his political views known. Fortunately for him, he seems to have had enough influence with other magistrates to keep from being arrested, and to foul Allen in his efforts to take away his commission in the militia. Allen charged that Dingman, "has been considered a radical for several years past by the loyalists here" and that "he always refused to cheer our Governor Sir Francis Bond Head and stated that he was not worth cheering." In this time of conflict the loyalists took the position that those who were not 100 per cent with them were against them., but Dingman may have been like the editor fo the British Whig, who called himself a "disagreeable" because he disagreed with Mackensie and with Sir Francis Head." page 90 & 91, from "The Rebels of Hastings" by Betsy Dewar Boyce

The said two acres of land lies in the North side of the highway adjoining Lot No. 40 and running from the highway to the shore of the Bay of Quinte. I also give a bequeath to my daughter Eliza Ann Williams a note that I hold of the value of forty dollars and I also give and bequeath to my daughter Mary D. Graham the sum of four dollars. All my real estate that I will and bequeath to m yson Henry Shiffer Dingman is composed of the front half of Lots Number 38 and 39 i the township of Marysburgh aforementioned. I also ordain all ?? and appoint my beloved friends John P. Williams and George R. German to be my lawfull executors of this my last will and testament signed this twenty second day of Sept. Deceased, who was born 72 years ago at Cressy, Prince Edward county, was ordained 45 years ago, and after ministering to many charges, was superannuated in 1884. He then took up his residence in Christian and temperance work, being secretary of the Ministerial Association at the time of this death. His widow survives him. the surviving children are: - Messrs.
