The Taylors are believed to have built a frame or log house on the farm in their early years and then replaced it with the present red brick house in 1893 on the northwest corner of the farm. Further during the Taylor's tenure, the first Carman Church, a Wesleyan Methodist, was built on the northeast corner of the farm. This church was demolished some time after the present-day Carman Church was built three kilometers to the east in1879. Ownership of the farm transferred to other Taylors as follows: Manfred C. Taylor in1902; Albert W. Taylor in 1908. Stirling P. and Edna E. Stewart bought the farm in 1950, and in 1976 it went to their son, Peter S. Stewart and his wife, Rosemary.
