- Note*: circa 1998; Brighton, Northumberland Co., Ontario; "We are all appreciatively familiar with the credits of the adult Ben (though they bear iterating and reiterating). The Family, the law office, the court room, Parliament, St. Paul's, The Masons, The Legion, the Village of Brighton, the Town of Brighton; not to mention the golf course and the "hot" trombone. And then there was the social conscience and the unerring sense of "the right thing to do". We, and there are so, so many of us, have but late bidden Ben a fond farewell. Citizen Ben. Yes. But, also, let's not forget the small boy who gazed out windows and dreamed. Because we hazard the guess that we all may very well have generously benefited from those same childhood dreams. 31 March 1998" the last paragraphs of "Ben", the first article in "Over My Shoulder, An Anthology of Brighton Memories", by Peter J. McConnell, Connolly Publishing Ltd., Brighton, 1998
Note: The surname of "Ben" is not mentiioned in Peter's article but it was clear to me it was referring to Ben Thompson.

- Burial*: 25 July 2019; Mount Pleasant Funderal Services, Toronto, York Co., Ontario; Obit: :Frances Vallee Walsh; November 21, 1943 - July 22, 2019; FRANCES VALLEE WALSH (aka Françoise Vallée) died peacefully, with her two children by her side, on July 22, 2019 at Princess Margaret Hospital, at the age of 75. An independent and indomitable spirit, Frances had recently retired from her career as an actress and prolific French and English voice talent. She loved her family, her friends, her dogs, living on her farm and managing her land herself, happily clearing brush, mowing paths with her riding mower, carting things around in her Gator, or walking through the fields with the dogs at her side. Frances was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May of 2018, and learned that it had metastasized to her bones in April of 2019. After fourteen months of fighting the disease and showing incredible bravery in the face of considerable pain, she left this world. We are broken hearted by the loss of our mother, but we are grateful she was spared further pain. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark, her mother Marie-Paule, her sister Bridget (Biddy), and her partner, Uku. She is survived by her children, Kinch and Amy, her grandsons Caleb and Shane, her daughter-in-law Kelly, her sister Kathleen (Kitty), her brother Bradley, her sister-in-law Shelly, many beloved nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Carfrae Chapel in Mount Pleasant Cemetery (doors open at 12PM, memorial service will start at12:30PM) followed by a reception at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre at 2PM.
