Note: Brighton Township was created Jan 1 1852 so before that the Simpson's were in Cramahe Township. Brighton Village was established in 1831 but was very small, most folks being farmers and therefore in the township. Also, the provice was Upper Canada untl ealry Feb 1841 when it became Canada West.
