Mrs. Maruy Middleton, 539 Argyle Ave., Orange New Jersey 07050, has retrieved from her wealth of genealogical notes additional information concerning this Daniel Cole and his family. She writes that William Canniff's "History of the Settlement of Upper Canada (Ontario) with special reference to the Bay of Quyinte" (TORONTO, 1869) P. 645, mentions John Cole of Ameliasburgh who in 1866 was 92 years old (born ca 1775). He was born in Albany, and his mother was Sophia de Long from Albany. He was a son of Daniel Cole, a native of Long Island, NY who died Aug 5, 1836 aged 105 years 1 month 12 days, leaving behind 8 children, 75 grandchildren, 172 greatgrand-children, and 13 greatgreatgrandchildren, in all 268 descendants." per GEDCOM of George Walter Gildersleeve, April 3, 2008.
