Dec 18 1839 at 10 am oath of Adam Henry Meyers; To the Registrar of the County of Northumberland, an indenture to be registered pursuant to the statutes in such case made and provided on an Indenture of Bargain and Sale bearing date of the fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine and made between Mary Dame of the Township of Marysburgh in the Couty of Prince Edward in the Province of Upper Canada, widow, of the first part and William Connaughty, of the township of Murray in the County of Northumberland in the Province aforesaid, yeoman, of the other part, whereby the said Mary Dame, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of the said Province, to her by the said William Connaughty, in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of the said Indenture the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged did grant, bargain, sell, assign, release, transfer, convey, ?? and ? unto the said William Connaughty his heirs and assigns forever, all and Singular that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate lying and being in the Township of Murray, in the County of Northumberland in the Province aforesaid, containing by admeasurement two hundred acres be the same more or less, composed of lot number eleven in the eighth concession of the said township of Murray, excepting ? and therefrom more or less forty seven acres heretofore sold and conveyed for taxes which said parcel or lot of land is more particularly described in the sellers patent of Grant thereof from the Crown to the said Mary Dame as by reference being thereto had will more full appear; To have and to hold the said parcel or tract of land and premises with the appertenances free and discharged from all encumbrances whatsoever unto the said William Connaughty his heirs and assigns, To the sale and ? benefit and behalf of the said William Connaughty his heirs and assigns forever, And in which paid indenture is a covenent that she the said Mary Dame and her heirs and all persons lawfully claiming under them shall at every reasonable request and the costs and charges of the said William Connaughty his heirs and assigns make do and execute all such lawful acts and deeds for the better assuring the said land and premises to the said William Connaughty his heirs and assigns .. as by any of them or any of their counsel carried in the Law shall be devised and required, Which said Deed is witnessed by Adam H.
