Now Knew Yes, that the United States of America, in consideration of the premises, and in conformity with the several acts of Congress, in such case made and provided, have given and granted, and by they presents do five and grant, unto the said John Dowling, and to his heirs, the said tract above described; To have and to hold the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature thereto belonging, unto the said John Dowling, and to his heirs and assigns forever.
  In testimony whereof, I, John Quincey Adams, President of the United States of America, have caused these letters to be made Patent, and the seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto affixed. The Secretary of War (1835) listed as drawing a pension as an ensign in the Revolution, in Niagara County. After the Revolution, lived in Northumberland Co. Penn, five years. In 1789, with his wife and 4 children went to Romulus NY. They were one of the first settlers of Seneca County. In about 1810 he sold his property to Elijah Kenne Jr. (who married his daughter Hester). He then lived in Newfane, Niagara Co, NY 22 years. (paraphrased from Anna Hayward Merritt Genealogical Library, Vol 2, pages 51 & 52). Wisner's of America (page 118) quotes a pension record saying Ensign David Wisner was born on 4 Dec 1758 in Warwick NY and died in Newfane NY 18 Jun 1840.
