Roger Bidwell Wolcott was born in 1769 at Newington, Connecticut, U.S.A; Date 1769 & location USA per Upper Canada Land Petition which says he was 47 years of age in 1816 and born in the USA. This means that this guy is not the son of Rober Wolcott of Cobourg. Maybe a cousin. (Dan Buchanan, Oct 4 2024.)

per family tree of rmattson88 on ancestry.ca, Oct 4 2024.1 Roger Bidwell Wolcott immigrated in 1806 to Upper Canada; Land Petition in 1816 says he had been in the Province for 10 years.1,2 He married Anna Harris, daughter of Baltus Harris and Anna Noxon, circa 1807 at Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; per family tree of Bill Ferguson on ancestry.ca, Oct 3 2024.1 Roger Bidwell Wolcott appeared on the census of 1809 at Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1809 Assessment: Name: Roger Wolcott; no land (Newcastle District Census & Assessment Records, Hamilton Twp.)3 He appeared on the census of 1809 at Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1809 Census: Name: Roger Wolcott; 1 male 16-60, 1 female 16-60, 0 male under 16, 1 female under 16 (Newcastle District Census & Assessment Records, Hamilton Twp.)
Note: This is the first appearance of another Roger Wolcott. Assuming it must be his oldest son, Roger B. Wolcott. May be a mistake in the records that his record is duplicated.3 He appeared on the census of 1810 at Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1810 Census: Name: Roger Wolcott; 1 male 16-60, 1 female 16-60, 0 male under 16, 2 females under 16 (Newcastle District Census & Assessment Records, Hamilton Twp.)3 He appeared on the census of 1810 at Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Upper Canada; 1810 Assessment: Name: Roger B. Wolcott; 190 acres uncult., 10 acres cult. (Newcastle District Census & Assessment Records, Hamilton Twp.)3 He " ... served in the last war with Great Britain." This from an item in Wolcott Genealogy, North America, Family Histories, pg. 130. Note: This suggests that Roger Woclott, who was the husband of Elizabeth Bosworth, served on the British side during the War of 1812. That would be due to the fact that he lived in Upper Canada, in Hamilton Township, Northumberland County, near Cobourg. He was not related to Lieut. Roger Woclott of the Northumberland Militia, but probably knew him. This all supports this Robert B. Wolcott having two families, one in N.Y. and one in Upper Canada. He left the first one and came to UC in 1806, married Anna Harris and raised another family here. If anyone has contradictory info with proof, I'm all ears!
