Note: This does not say James Ruggles, in particular, but goes with other items indicating the James Ruggles as in York at this time, probably looking for employment.2 He lived in 1797 at York, York Co., Upper Canada; "James Ruggles, 2 males" List of the inhabitants of the township of York and it's vicinity in the year 1797, from The Town of York 1793-1815, Law and Order, page 89.

It is said that Mrs. Moody was passing and was the frist that heard her screams, and that the poor creature had run into the street. Doctor Baldwin and Doctor Thom of the 21st Regiment attend her. it is thought she cannot live."
