She leaves her son Kenneth ( Hideko ), of Toronto, Dr Rick ( June ) of Guelph and grandchildren Philip, Edward (Sarah ), and Victoria, James Bradford, Emory, Deirdre, and Eric.She was pre-deceased by her husband Arthur and son Robert. Edna was in her ninety-ninth year, and enjoyed a long life filled with many sports activities, music and love of her work. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, the
Barbershop Belles, and the University of Guelph Choir. She left this life listening to her favourite Elvis Presley Gospel songs. She played Intercounty Softball, tennis, was a member of the Beaverdale Golf Club, and was also a co-founder of the Central Ontario 5- Pin Bowling Association. Her induction into the Guelph 10-Pin Bowlers Association Hall of Fame was recognized by The American Bowlers Association. She was proud to have been the personal secretary to the University of Guelph’s School of Physical Education Directors William Mitchell and John Powell, each of whom have had U of G campus building named after them. Edna’s mind remained sharp until the end, and her humour and insight was a constant source of amazement to family and friends alike. She enjoyed her final years at Riverside Glen, for which the family gives special thanks to the staff on the Assisted Care Unit. We would also like to recognize with gratitude the efforts of her neighbours, the Toths and the Polos, as well as her friends Gwen and Glenn McIntyre and Yvonne Boyles, all of whom extended her independence and added to her happiness. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, and a private family burial will follow at Woodlawn
