The Gould family was a large, very early settler group at Salem, east of Colborne, and they have connections to the well-known Burr family of New England in generations before coming to Canada. I see no examples of Burr being used as a first name in the Gould family, but there are many examples of it being used as a middle name. The best and most obvious example is Seth Burr Gould which we see in several generations of this family. It would be interesting to know how this Richardson family came to use these given names, especially since I see no direct link between these groups.
