The house was surrounded by Acacias trees and was called "The Acacias". They subsequently built a stone house across the road from the "Acacias" which was to become known as the "Bonnycastle Homestead". The "Acacias" was then occupied by a Rev Bowers followed by Captain R. H. Note: I agree. These early census records MUST be under Matthew - the kids and age all work. It could be a transcription mistake or a copy-and-not-edit oversight which sometimes happens when I am doing a bunch of census records.
