It was known that he had a son, James (2.1); however, according to the Marriage Register, Hasting County 1858-1869, James MCaw, born in Picton, Prince Edward County in 1837, the son of John McCaw and Helen (Ginlow) McCaw was married to Rebecdca irk on July 15, 1867. At this time, James' residence was shown as Concession #1, Elzevir Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.
