Lyle went to work on his wife's father's farm and younger brother Dean Chatten worked with Roy on shares with the Harden farm for a time. Then, Roy decided to purchase the Harnden place, a mortgage was arranged and the property was purchased before Roy married Florence Rannie in 1947.
