After the birth of their seventh child, James Losee, they moved from Canada to New York state, where they remained for several years. they then moved to Ohio, remaining there one year, finally settling in Iowa at Big Rock, not far from Davenport, building a home near the river, and manufacturing chairs and other articles. For several years a weakness of his eyes kept him in a darkened room. In his eighty-first year, a fall down the cellar stairs so injured him that he died after a week's patient suffering. He was survived by his wife, Lovina, for many years. She made her home with her daughter Mary at Naponee, Neb and with her daughter Esther at Alliance, Neb, where she died, April 15, 1898, aged 92 yrs, 6 mo.
