the date is correct and he did spent much of his childhood there, he was actually born on the Garden River Ojibway reserve just east of Sault Ste. Marie. His father, Franklin Robert William Belford was teaching in the residential school. My dad was very proud of the fact that he had been born on the reserve. Love your work.
