She will always be remem bered for her love of life, generosity of spirit, and kindness. Jane was born in Fargo, North Dakota in 1923 and grew up there. She worked as an Activities Director for the United Service Organizations (USO) in Seattle. Then she worked as an Activities Director for the Army Special Services, which took her to Germany, Alaska and finally Colorado where she met her future husband, William (Bill) Brennan, DVM. After marrying, Jane and Bill moved to Seattle (Ballard) where they built and worked together at The Ballard Animal Hospital and raised their six children. Jane was active as a volunteer for the Children's Home Society and St. Alphonsus Parish. Jane's adventurous spirit and love of travel took her to many parts of the world. A classical pianist, she shared her love of music with many people over the years and was the proud winner of the North Dakota State Piano Championship at the young age of 14. But nothing gave her more joy than to be with her family, and her family could not have had a more extraordinary mother. A truly special woman of faith, Jane will be missed by all who knew her and her legacy lives on in the hearts and souls of her family. She is survived by her six children: Mary Brennan Quade (Rolland), Stephen Brennan, James Brennan (Mary Anchondo), Julia Brennan Conquest (Bill), Anne McLaren Brennan, and Susan Brennan (Robert Sanders); five grandchildren, Jessica Conquest, Rachel Brennan, Joseph Conquest, Grace McLaren Brennan, and Molly Quade. Jane's husband, William Brennan, preceded her in death and she is with him now. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ridgeway Alan Cumming and Agnes McLaren Cumming, and her brother, Alan Ridgeway Cumming. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12th, at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 630 7th Ave. N, Edmonds, 98020. A reception will follow at the parish and there will be a graveside service at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.
