Eliza Ann Singleton1,2,3

F, #77156, b. November 1811, d. 1897
  • Birth*: November 1811; Thurlow Twp., Hastings Co., Upper Canada; Date 1812 & location Ont. per 1881 Census. Date 1812 & location Ont. per 1871 Census. Date 1811 & location UC per 1861 Census. Location Ont. per marriage reg'n. of daughter Leonora Helen (Meade) Duncan. Location Thurlow due to info in obit of Mrs. Margaret Singleton in the Ensign says they came to this are April 1815 - so Eliza Ann must have been born in Thurlow before they left.
Note: I have placed this Eliza Ann Singleton with John Singleton and Margaret Canniff because she is clearly connected to this family and dates and locations work. She married Henry Meade of Brighton and their daughter Leonora Helen Meade married Rev. Peter Duncan of Colborne. These people are all together in the A. C. Singleton household for the 1861 Census and Leonora and Peter were married shortly afterward. Also, the 1815 Census shows a female child under 16 in the household of John Singleton.
