Many of the children returned to the United States, taking up farm land in Michigan. However, Cornelius's on Ferdinand Van Sicklin remained in Ontario as did his family. One of Frederic Van Sicklin's daughters married Henry Peister, thereby early in the nineteenth century forging the link between the two families. In the local area, the Van Sicklin family is most directly represented by Hazel Peister Van Sicklin ,Wooler and the Harold Maybee Family, Stockdale."
