Wrote for verification of petition, no answer or other record made of him as petitioner, also considered by Debra Palmer Morgan. We belive he married Hannah Wilkinson in Vermont, but no license or certificate found, but date given by 1955 for a sealing on Church record. Their first four children gave they were born in U.S. before they moved to Cramahe Township, Northumberland County, Newcastle District, Upper Canada, not called Ontario until l867. !Joseph Keeler, the first settler, a native of Vermont, arrived in Cramahe Twp 1789, and returned in 1793, brought with him 40 settlers who took up land in Cramahe & adjoining Haldimand Township. Among those 31 who received grants along the lake shore were the families of PALMER, Rogers, Crandell, Beach, to name a few. George Palmer applied for 200 acres in Cramahe and received his Grant for Lot 3l, 2nd concession by 1803. Page 499 Colborne, I quote: "The Keelers bought some of the property from Palmer in l812, it was part of a Crown Grant made to George Palmer nine years earlier", from ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ONTARIO, Vol II, Places in Ontario", by Nick & Helma Mika, Part I A-E, 1977. !7 July l798 George Palmer is found on Baptist Church record as living in Cramahe Twp, when "he told his experience, fellowship gained & entered into a covenant with God and the brothern". No letter gave WHERE he came from as it did for Amos Beach by letter from Church in Nine Partners. Page 45, on 29 Sept or Oct 1801, wife Hannah Palmer was baptized, Lucretia Draper Palmer, & Charles Draper, among others shown as members. !July l797, Public Records & Archives of Ontario, p.161 shows Cramahe, George Palmer Lot 31, 2nd concession, then on p.461-463, the original Grant actual copy in possession & was obtained in 1955 by personal visit at the Toronto Archives, which reads all 200 acres, LOT 31, 2n" per GEDCOM of Carole Sperickerhoff, March 29, 2009.1
